Media Manager

BTI Studios is among the world’s largest localization companies providing dubbing, subtitling, and access services in any language. Founded in 1995, BTI Studios today operates 24 local facilities globally, spanning a network of fully-owned local sites across Europe, Asia, and the US. BTI Studios’ clients are broadcasters, such as BBC Worldwide, Discovery Networks, and Turner; major film studios such as NBC Universal, Warner, Disney and Fox; and VoD Platforms, such as Amazon, Netflix, and Hulu.

We are looking for an experienced Media Manager to join our growing BTI Los Angeles team, located in Burbank, California. This position will be responsible for overseeing all Audio/Video technical implementation, workflow documentation and process design in connection with our media services needs.

Main Functions

  • Responsible for overseeing the day to day management of the delivery AV projects within set timeframes/budget coordinating resources efficiently and effectively
  • Help establish automated workflows enabling our project management team to efficiently process customer orders (i.e., automate customer deliveries, transcoding, audio muxing, and production deliveries)
  • Manage security practices across our media services workflows to ensure consistent and resilient application of our standards & practices
  • Research and recommend new technology, services and practices for continuous improvement
  • Create and communicate the scope of work, set procedures, document, monitor, evaluate
  • Determine infrastructure requirements to support the designs
  • Help streamline workflows by implementing the right set of tools and processes
  • Help management design project implementation plans including assessing communication needs, timelines and stakeholder buy-in
  • Manage a team of staff technicians
  • Help streamline workflows by implementing the right set of tools and processes
  • Troubleshoot technical issues by ensuring accurate deliverables and correct output specifications
  • Document and manage hardware inventory and licenses

Person Specifications

  • Experience managing others in a small team environment and an ability to partner with our existing project management team to help streamline content creation workflows on behalf of BTI’s customers.
  • A proven work experience record in video Engineering with extensive knowledge of video codecs, video/motion graphics and transcoding/encoding. 2-3 years localization experience working with dubbed and subtitled content.
  • Working Audio engineering knowledge including editing/conforming/rendering within the Pro Tools environment.
  • Proficient in industry standard automated platforms such as Telestream Vantage, ROOT 6
  • Proficient in Video editing platforms such as Adobe Premiere, FCP, etc…
  • Excellent knowledge of digital video formats
  • Knowledge of IMF packaging, CPL XML creation
  • Knowledge of packaging for OTT customers such Amazon, iTunes, etc…
  • Knowledge of subtitle formats
  • Knowledge of BD/DVD authoring workflows
  • A solid understanding of audio formats and loudness measurement specifications
  • Strong computer literacy (MS Office, etc..)
  • Ability to work independently with excellent organizational and time management skills, multi-tasking, planning
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and pressure
  • 2-3 years experience in content localization dealing with both dubbed and subtitled assets
